I'm New. What Should I Expect?
Welcome to Cornerstone! We are so glad you're on our website, and we hope to meet you soon. We understand it can be intimidating to walk into a new church for the first time. Below is some information that should answer some questions you might have. Feel free to browse around the rest of the website to learn more about us.
Who is the Pastor?
Sonny Hyde has been the Pastor here at Cornerstone since 2000. Click here to learn more about him!
What can I expect on Sunday?
Sunday mornings begin with Growth Groups at 9:00 a.m. We get together to dig into God's Word as we lay foundations for our lives. We have classes suited for all age groups, even adults, that are designed to help us discover, discuss, and directly apply God's truth to our lives.
Our worship service is a good blend of the old and the new; from great hymns of the faith and new songs of praise to timeless Bible truths and modern messages. We seek to lift up and honor the name of Jesus as we draw closer to God. As we honor God in music, we also seek to prepare our hearts and minds to receive His inspiration and instruction through His Word. We believe that our journey of faith should be refreshing, enjoyable, and relevant. We hope to capture all of this during our Welcome & Worship time. What will my kids do on Sunday?
The teachers and helpers at Cornerstone provide opportunities for your kids to discover Bible truths with kids their own age during Growth Groups on Sunday at 9:00 am. We strive to create environments that are safe and fun for every stage of life.
If interested, we have a team available to watch your children during Welcome & Worship Service at 10:00 a.m. Our nursery is staffed by committed adult and teen volunteers who truly care about the well-being of your child(ren).
In order for adults to work with youth, they must go through our Child Abuse Awareness Training Program, provide references, and pass a background check. We also have windows in each room so that parents can ensure their children are receiving the best care. All of our youth workers are instructed on emergency procedures and have every child's safety in mind. We care deeply about children and want to ensure their safety. Please contact our office if you have any questions or concerns about your child.
When is the best time to arrive?
We suggest arriving 10 to 15 minutes early for the program you plan on attending.
What should I wear?
There is no dress code at Cornerstone. You will see everything from dresses and sport coats to jeans and shorts.
How do I get involved?
There are many ways to get involved. Here are three of them:
1) Come to a Growth Group or Welcome and Worship on Sunday morning.
2) Look into joining a Life Group and get to know some great people.
3) Come to a Wednesday Discovery Group and discover a little more about God.
